Family friendly weekend with a standing camp at Comet Flat just out of Woods Point.
Requires 4×4 access, but off road camper trailers are OK. The site has some drop toilets and is on a creek.
We will go in on Thursday with the plan be at the camp site early / mid afternoon to secure a good site, cut some firewood, etc. If anyone want to come in on convoy, I’d suggest meeting at Warburton, departing before noon or earlier if possible.
I will run a half day 4×4 trip on Friday and Saturday, heading out in the morning, back to camp early – mid afternoon each day so the kids have time to splash in the river to blow off some steam.
Trip length and departure time will be dependant on when people arrive but I am thinking Friday Jerico & Mt Matlock area which have some mining town relics that are worth walking around and Sunday to Mt Terrible area and back to get a view. Day trips will be easy to medium.
Sunday can be a laze around camp and head off when you are ready, alternatively there are some 1 – 2 hour drives that we can do in the morning if there is interest.
